About Us
The Pymatuning Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club, Inc. was established in 1971. We are designated as a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization for the purpose of promoting safe snowmobiling and establishing and maintaining a trail system in and around the Pymatuning Lake area. We currently have approximately 60 miles of local designated trails. A portion of the trail system is located in Pymatuning State Park, and a portion on private property. The Club has the worked with the local landowners over the years to secure access to their property for use by snowmobiles during the winter months.
As a community service organization, the club provides many services to the local community. The biggest project is the Winter Fun Day held every February at Pymatuning State Park. A kitchen addition was built by the club onto shelter #4 at Pymatuning State Park in 1997 for use by the public and other organizations. Each fall, a free snowmobile safety training class is offered to all 10 to 16 year olds. Adults are also welcome. Monetary and food donations are given to provide needy families and shut-ins during the holiday season.
We are registered with the local police and fire departments, as well as the Mercer County Emergency Management Agency, to help in snow-related emergency situations. The club is an active member of the Pennsylvania State Snowmobile Association. We are also a member of the Erie Crawford Snowmobile Alliance, which is comprised of eight other snowmobile clubs.
The Trail Blazers have fun throughout the year with local riding, snowmobile trips to the mountains, and we have also enjoyed trips to the UP in Michigan, Tug Hill, New York, and the Allegheny National Forest.
Club meetings are normally held at 10:30 am on the third Sunday of each month at the clubhouse.
